1. Nordic walking

According to Dr Mosley: "Nordic walking involves using far more muscle groups than ordinary walking, so it is good for you. Finland not only has some of the happiest people in the world but also some of the healthiest.", reports Bristol Live.

A study conducted in 2019 discovered that participants over 60 who engaged in Nordic Walking three hours a week for half a year were notably stronger and had reduced their waistlines by an additional six centimetres compared to those who practiced regular walking.

This might be attributed to the fact that the Finns are at the forefront of Nordic walking, which utilises poles to propel oneself forward and is associated with numerous health advantages.

For example, a 2019 study published in the Clinical Interventions in Aging journal saw a group of individuals in their sixties assigned to three hours of either Nordic walking or regular walking each week. Originating from Finland in the 1990s, Nordic walking is a full-body workout that involves walking with specially designed poles akin to those used in cross-country skiing.

This activity can be performed on various terrains, making it versatile and accessible for people of all fitness levels.
